Calling All Allies: Stop HB 1686!
Tell the House Public Health Committee NO to HB 1686! No to any bans on affirming care for transgender youth!
This is an "all hands on deck" situation. If you are a member or ally of the LGBTQIA+ community we need you to take action today. HB 1686, a bill that would end access to affirming care for transgender youth, is pending in the House Public Health Committee.
Last week, more than 2,000 people turned out to oppose this cruel bill. In a grueling, eight-hour hearing, our community and allies told the committee how this bill would severely harm transgender youth. This bill pretends to know better than all the major medical associations and transgender youth and parents. The committee left the bill pending and we need to make sure it stays there.
Now it's your turn to stand up! We need your voice to be heard in opposition
If this bill becomes law, the consequences for transgender youth and their families will be devastating. These are private medical decisions that are best left to youth, families and doctors - not politicians.
Use our prompt and feel free to add your own thoughts on why this bill must be stopped.

More than 140 bills that target our community have been filed and it is clear some lawmakers are amplifying their attacks on LGBTQIA+ Texans. We have faced threats before but this is the biggest onslaught we have seen. We need you to take action urgently!
