Protect Trans Youth: Stop SB 2!
"Sports ban" bills like SB 2 are nothing short of legislated discrimination. Tell the Texas Legislature to oppose these sports bans and protect transgender youth!
Despite the huge issues facing Texas, Gov. Abbott and his allies have decided to renew attacks on transgender youth during the special sessions of the Texas Legislature. SB 2 is a bill that would ban affirming participation in school sports for trans and gender non-conforming youth.
These cruel "sports ban" bills are solutions in search of a problem and would be yet another roadblock for trans youth to face at school. The bills have no enforcement mechanism, open the door to suspicion among teammates and could even lead to anatomical exams for student athletes regardless of their gender identity.
We cannot let SB 2 become law! It will receive a hearing in a House committee on Tuesday.
Leaders in Austin need to hear YOUR voice in opposition! Tell them that transgender and gender non-conforming youth are no less deserving to participate!
Bills like SB 2 are part of a coordinated attack in state legislatures across the country. Texans must not allow these attacks to succeed.
