Stop HB 890: the "Don't Say Gay/Trans" Bill!
Don't say gay/trans language was recently added to an unrelated bill. Help protect LGBTQIA+ youth in Texas and stop this bill from becoming law!
The legislative session is nearly over but anti-LGBTQIA+ lawmakers are not giving up on their attacks. So-called "don't say gay/trans" language that would ban any instruction, materials or other positive LGBTQIA+ representation for all K-12 grades was added to an unrelated bill.
This bill has already passed the Senate so we need all hands on deck to oppose it at this last critical vote in the House.
Other "don't say gay/trans" bills were already defeated this session. Now, we must continue the fight to make sure this harmful measure doesn't become law through this last-minute move.
LGBTQIA+ youth in Texas already face poor climates on campus. Eliminating any representation through instruction, programming, even guidance counseling, is cruel and will make a bad situation worse.
We need your voice to be heard in opposition, today!
Step 1. Enter your contact information to send an e-mail message to your members of the Texas Legislature.
Step 2. Call the offices of House Speaker Dade Phelan and your member of the Texas House. Tell them: "I am calling on you to vote no on HB 890 with the "don't say gay/trans language. Please stop this bad bill."
