Calling All Allies: Stop HB 1686 and SB 14!
Tell the House Calendars Committee NO to HB 1686 and SB 14! These legislative attacks on transgender youth must not advance to the House floor!
This is an "all hands on deck" situation. If you are a member or ally of the LGBTQIA+ community we need you to take action today.
HB 1686 and SB 14, bills that would end access to affirming healthcare for transgender youth, are pending in the House Calendars Committee. This committee decides when bills make it to the House floor. These bills must stop here!
If these bills become law, the consequences for transgender youth and their families will be devastating. These are private medical decisions that are best left to youth, families and doctors - not politicians.
Legislators do not know better than all the major medical associations, transgender youth and their parents. Thousands of LGBTQIA+ Texans and allies have shown up to try and stop these bills.
Now it's your turn to stand up! We need your voice to be heard in opposition.
Step 1. Enter your contact information to send an e-mail message to the committee.
Step 2. Call the House Speaker and members of the committee and tell their office to "Stop HB 1686 and SB 14 from reaching the House floor. Do not advance these dangerous bills from the Calendars Committee." Contact information for committee members is below.
